Fire Suppression Systems
When it comes to fire safety, protection and prevention are key – that’s where ASCO comes in. With a wealth of industry experience, we help customers throughout Edinburgh, Glasgow, Midlothian, Duns, Fofar and Ardrossan to improve fire safety at their property with our sophisticated fire suppression systems.
We will assess your premises, put forward our recommendations on what is required and install the system in line with fire safety regulations, ensuring full compliance. There are no limitations on where fire suppression systems can be fitted – though they’re ideal for commercial kitchens – so you can rest assured knowing that your property is protected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
How does a fire suppression system work?
Fire suppression systems operate by quickly detecting any heat, smoke or fire in a property and suppressing it using the most appropriate method. Depending on the type of application, an automatic fire suppression system will emit an extinguishing substance, such as water, foam or dry chemical, without you needing to intervene.
The four stages of fire suppression are:
- cooling (using water)
- smothering (reducing oxygen)
- starvation (removing the fuel source)
- interruption (breaking the chemical reaction that causes fire)
With heavy foot traffic and a variety of tasks being carried out at large premises such as schools, businesses and shops, it’s imperative that the necessary fire safety measures are in place to prevent any major damage or risk to life.
